20 Jan (SL) Seven train engines imported from France worth over Rs. 1.2 billion have been pulled out of service owing to maintenance issues. In 1999 the then government imported ten ‘M9’ type train engines at a cost of Rs.182 million each but today only three are in operation. “Each engine cost Rs.182 million.
